Your Story

Every life is made up of many little stories.  Your story begins when you are born.  You are brand new.  It's your "Once Upon A Time".  And then you start to grow...you are a toddler, and then a child...a teenager and then finally an adult.  During those years your stories are mostly cute and funny moments in time. Sometimes your story is a hard one.  Maybe your stories weren't perfect.  Sometimes your stories involved more pain than joy...more tears than laughter. But your stories molded you into the adult you turned out to be.  And then your story continued.  Maybe you made some foolish irresponsible decisions.  Also your stories.  You probably had a great time...more stories.  You suffered heartache...you laughed until you cried.  You lived your stories.  Maybe you found the love of your life.  Maybe you lost the love of your life.  Maybe you had babies...or puppies.  More stories...weaving themselves together...all of them the story of you.  And then one day you wake up and you find yourself nearing your "Happily Ever After"...the end of your life.  Maybe you got ill...and your life, your STORY, is being cut short.  And it doesn't seem fair...that you feel you're not getting to live the WHOLE story...that your story is ending so soon.  Maybe you're not ready for your happily ever after. It's not right...It's not the way you would have written it for yourself.  It's not the story you envisioned.  But friend, this IS your story.  Think back to all the little stories you lived that weaved themselves together.  Your first day of Kindergarden.  Your first kiss.  Your graduation.  Your wedding day.  The first time you saw your babies' pink little faces.  The first time they said "Momma".  Those are YOUR stories.  Nobody elses.  And each and every one of those stories brought you to where you are now.  When you're coming to the end of your story, surrounded by the ones you love and who love you, take a long hard look at them.  These are the people that will carry your stories.  These are the people who will continue your story long after you are gone.  Your story lives on in your son...when he marries the woman he loves tomorrow...one of your last wishes.  Your story lives on in your granddaughter...everytime she thinks of you and smiles.  Your story lives on in your daughter who cherishes being a mom because you taught her how.  Your story isn't over...as long as there are people who love you here to remember you, it's never over.  Your loved ones are still reading your story...and if not for your body, for your soul...there is no "The End".
